Step into the Spotlight as a Shining Stars Dancer

Welcome to a performance experience like no other. Shining Stars is MCDC’s premier non-competitive, recreational-based performance group designed for dancers who are ready to take their passion beyond the classroom and into the spotlight.

Who We Are

Shining Stars is an inclusive performance group open to all current MCDC students—no audition required. Designed for dancers ages 8 and up, this ensemble celebrates individuality while creating a unified, powerful presence on stage.

What to Expect

As a Shining Stars member, dancers participate in 6–9 performances throughout the season, including in-studio showcases, local community events, and special appearances at high-profile venues such as Disneyland and Ontario Reign Hockey Games. Dancers learn multiple routines throughout the year and develop their performance skills through engaging choreography and purposeful rehearsal. Each performance opportunity is designed to build confidence, stage presence, and artistic expression.

Commitment and Requirements

The Shining Stars season runs from July 1 to June 30. Dancers must be enrolled in both a Jazz class and a Jazz technique class throughout the season. Rehearsals take place every Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and are mandatory to ensure growth, consistency, and ensemble unity.
