ABOUT MCDC
Miss Candice’s Dance Center is a performance-based, non-competitive dance studio dedicated to enriching the community through the art of dance. Since opening its doors in late summer of 2019, MCDC has fostered a nurturing and inclusive environment for dancers and their families. Our facility features two raised sprung dance floors and ample viewing windows, creating a truly family-friendly atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
Our recreational dance program offers over 40 weekly classes, all organized by age rather than skill level. This approach ensures that dancers of all abilities can learn, grow, and thrive together in a supportive setting.
In addition to our recreational offerings, MCDC proudly supports dancers eager to perform through our community-centered performance programs. The Shining Stars program, open to dancers ages 8–18 of any level, emphasizes choreography and community engagement. Shining Stars have performed at senior centers, city parades, charity events, shopping malls, and major theme parks. This non-audition, non-competitive program is designed to provide meaningful, accessible performance opportunities for every dancer. To learn more, please visit the Shining Stars Performance Group page in the menu above.
We are also home to the Nova Ballet Ensemble, a specialized performance group for ballet-focused dancers ages 12 and up who are ready to elevate their classical training. Ensemble members rehearse weekly and perform featured roles in MCDC’s ballet productions, including group works, small ensemble pieces, and solo opportunities. The Nova Ballet Ensemble emphasizes artistic expression, technical development, and storytelling through ballet—offered in a supportive, audition-free environment. For further details, visit the Nova Ballet Ensemble of MCDC page in the menu above.
Each year, MCDC presents two full-scale studio productions at the historic Fox Theater in Downtown Riverside: our holiday classic The Nutcracker Sweet! in December, and a themed summer production in June. Both performances include a full in-studio rehearsal the day prior to the show. All enrolled students are invited to participate for a modest performance fee, though participation is never mandatory. Registration for our winter performance is available from July to August, and for the summer performance from January to February.
To better serve our dance families, MCDC also offers an on-site boutique stocked with all essential dancewear and supplies. Our spacious hallways and multiple viewing areas allow families to comfortably observe classes and celebrate their dancers’ progress.
At Miss Candice’s Dance Center, we strive to make every dancer and family feel welcomed, valued, and part of something truly special.
